Get kids outside!  Teach them survival, orienteering, & elements of Alaskan history and naturalism!  Help the Nikolaevsk School Hiking Club promote health, fitness, & and the pioneering spirit!

Many move to Alaska to live an outdoor lifestyle, but often Alaskan families do not have the luxury to invest time and resources in exploring our outdoors with their children.  Nikolaevsk is a school of hardworking families, focused on the practical aspects of life. As educators, we at the school delight in providing enrichment opportunities to our students so we can foster their growth in and out of the classroom.

Research has shown that children who develop healthy lifestyles and a good relationship with their natural world grow up with better mental and physical health and achieve greater academic success. We look forward to a year promoting strong, healthy bodies along with strong, healthy minds in our school as well as giving the students the skills and habits they need to stay strong and healthy all of their lives.

The Nikolaevsk School  Hiking Club is raising money for travel and gear to support 6th-12th grade students (K-5th with parent accompaniment) while they explore Alaska.  We would like to provide basic safety gear for each student, subsidize outdoor gear for low-income students, and pay for travel to history rich locations such as Cordova, Kodiak, Hope, Seward, & Independence Mine, as well as great hiking trails here on the Kenai and across the Bay.

Check out our GoFundMe page to help.

Please help Nikolaevsk School Hiking Club support the needs of our students.

Thank you!
